At Quitline, we know that many young people can feel nervous about talking on the phone. That's why, when you contact us, you'll speak with a friendly counsellor who will help you feel comfortable and supported from the start.
When quitting vaping or smoking, there are two important aspects to address:
- The behavioural side, including routines, thoughts, and feelings associated with smoking or vaping.
- The physical side, including nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms such as headaches and irritability.
Our free program for people under 30 is designed to support both. We work with you to create a personalised quit plan based on your goals, ideas, and circumstances, ensuring it fits around your daily life.
The program also includes up to 12 weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), delivered directly to your home or a nominated address.
When used correctly, NRT can help make quitting more comfortable by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Available products include nicotine patches, as well as your choice of nicotine gum or lozenges.
Everything you share with Quitline about smoking or vaping is confidential. We're here to listen and provide support without judgement.
We will only involve another person in your calls if you want us to. For young people aged 12 to 15, consent from a parent, guardian, or appropriate health worker is required before free nicotine replacement therapy can be provided.
Calls from Quitline will appear as a blocked or private number to help protect your privacy.
Whether you're ready to quit or simply looking for more information, Quitline is here to help.
Request a call online through QuitHQ and take the next step towards your goals.
You don't have to do it alone. Quitline is available to support you seven days a week.
