At Quitline, we understand that talking about your health over the phone can feel uncomfortable for some people. That's why, when you contact us, you'll speak with a friendly counsellor who will help you feel comfortable from the very beginning.
When it comes to quitting smoking or vaping, there are two key areas to address:
- The behavioural side, including routines, thoughts, and feelings associated with smoking or vaping.
- The physical side, including nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms such as headaches and irritability.
That's why our free Yarn to Quit program for Mob provides support tailored to your needs. We work with you to develop a quit plan based on your ideas, goals, and circumstances, ensuring it fits around your life.
The program also includes up to 12 weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), delivered directly to your home or a nominated address.
When used correctly, NRT can help make quitting more comfortable by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Available options include nicotine patches, along with your choice of nicotine gum, lozenges, or nicotine mist.
Quitline also has a dedicated team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander counsellors. You can choose to yarn with either male or female counsellors, depending on your preference.
Everything you share about smoking or vaping is confidential. We're here to listen and provide support without judgement.
Calls from Quitline will appear as a blocked or private number, but we'll send you a text message the day before your scheduled call so you'll know when to expect us.
Whether you're ready to make a change or simply looking for more information, Quitline is here to help.
